Fredrick S. Victor Jr., 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Muskogee, Okla., to Fredrick S. Victor Sr. and Dorothy Mae Showalter Victor.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was president of the 1939 Class at Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University. He was vice president of National Cooperative Refinery Association in McPherson, Kan. He was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church for 55 years, having served as a deacon, elder and Chairman of Board at Edina, Minn., and Dallas, Texas. He was a past member of the Bella Vista Community Church. He was a member of the Bella Vista Presbyterian Church. He was co-leader of the Presbyterian Golf Association and Shepherd Group. He enjoyed golf, bridge, travel and sports.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Victor, and Paul Victor; a sister, DeeLaura Allen; and his first wife, Nancy Louise Victor.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Mickie Victor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Grant Victor and Julie Victor of Dallas, Texas, and David Victor and Brenda Victor of Albany, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy Moore Nichols and Charles Nichols of Kansas City, Mo.; three stepchildren, John Duncan of Bologna, Italy, Diane Thompson and her husband Doug Thompson of Wichita, Kan., and Dick Duncan and his wife Teresa Duncan of Austin, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Baker and Jim Baker of Broken Bow, Okla.; three grandchildren, Rae Fourt, David More, and Ryan Victor; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, with the Rev. James E. Still and the Rev. Tracy L. Evans.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter, 7702 S. W. Regional Airport Blvd., Bentonville, AR 72712, or to Habitat for Humanity of Benton County, 908 S. E. 21 st Street, Bentonville, AR 72712, or to the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
