Carl Daniel Parscale was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Bolivar, the son of Albert and Ruth (Thomas) Parscale. He died Feb. 10, 2011, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 79 years and 17 days.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1950 to 1953, during the Korean Conflict. He became a sergeant in 1952.
He was married to Delah Barton Taylor in 1957, in Springfield, and to this union two children were born.
He married Rosa Satterfield on Nov. 21, 1961, and with this union he added her two sons, Claude and Terry, to their family.
He was saved as a young man and was baptized and joined the Green Mountain Church.
In his younger days he was a motorcyclist. He was a truck driver and a farmer. He enjoyed horses and working with his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosa; his son, Carl Daniel Jr.; three half sisters; and two half brothers.
Survivors include his daughter, Carl Ann and husband, Ronnie Friend, Neosho; his two sons: Claude and wife, Stacy Satterfield, and Terry Satterfield, all of Buffalo; four grandchildren: Rebecca and husband, Andy Collins, Welch, Okla., Jacob Friend, Neosho, Ryan Satterfield, Springfield, and Jared Satterfield, Buffalo; one great-granddaughter, Naomi Collins, Welch, Okla.; one sister, Hazel Dull, Conway; one niece, Kathy Miller, Louisburg; one great-nephew, Brian Shockley; and one great-niece, Lori Vaughn, Conway. He will be sadly missed by family and many friends.
Services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Montgomery-Viets Chapel with the Rev. J.D. Little officiating. Music was "Amazing Grace," "Precious Memories" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Susan Potter was pianist. Burial was in Gann Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
