Juanita Hicks Moore, age 94, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Stella Manor Nursing Center, in Russellville. She was born in Dover, Arkansas, to George and Clarienda Brewer Hicks on April 4, 1913.
Her parents; one brother, Carl Hicks and wife Chloe and one niece, Rita Dunn and husband Bill preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Robert H. Moore (Betty) of Russellville; one grandson, Robert Russell Moore of Chicago, IL; one nephew, L.C. Hicks (Mary Jane) of Russellville; two great nephews, Jim Dunn (Karen) and their daughter Jamie Dunn of Russellville; L.C. Hicks, III (Jody) and their daughter Paige Hicks of Shanghai, China; one great niece, Beverly Behrens (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL.
Juanita was a life-long Methodist. She played the piano in the Dover Methodist Church for 18 years. After moving to Russellville and joining First United Methodist, she became a member of the Deaton-Roush Circle and the P.K. Merrill Sunday School Class. She remained an active member as long as she was able to attend. Juanita held a lifetime membership in Arkansas Valley Chapter 606, Order of the Eastern Star.
Juanita retired as a Timber Sale Clerk with U.S. Forest Service with 32 years of federal service.
Funeral held December 19, 2007, in the First United Methodist Church Chapel. Rev. Matthew Johnson and Rev. Tom Frase officiated. Burial at McFadden Cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers were Robert Russell Moore, Sid Brain, Jerry Burns, Olin Cook, Jim Dunn, Harold Humphrey, Doug Lowery and LeMoyne Smith. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Deaton-Roush Circle, P.K. Merrill Sunday School Class and Arkansas Valley Chapter 606, OES.
