SIKESTON -- Lizzie M. Hastings Campbell, 92, died Sept. 20, 2008, at her home.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late William Gardner and Maudie Beck Hastings, she was a member of the former Little Vine Baptist Church.
On July 16, 1936, she married John D. Campbell who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1986. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Hastings and William Doyle Hastings; four sisters, Opal Pruett, Leta Settles, Mary Hopper and Dorothy Alley; and one son-in-law, Duke Vannerson.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John David "Bud" and Joanie Campbell of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Regina Vannerson of Paducah, Ky., Johnalee and Lowell Collins of Union City, Tenn., and Dixie and Don Hale of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald Ray and Geneva Hastings of Sikeston; three sisters, Lucille Pruett and Modena Hastings of Sikeston and Ozeal Jones of Anderson, Ind.; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren,
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Ken Mathes, interim pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
