Will M. Wiggins, Jr.

Will M. Wiggins Jr. of New Smyrna Beach died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Halifax Medical Center.

Born in Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Wiggins came back to this area in 1979 from Huntersville, N.C., where he was a state corrections officer. Prior to that he had been a corrections officer and dispatcher for the New Smyrna Beach Police Department.

Mr. Wiggins was an Air Force veteran of World War II and attended the DeLand Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; three sons, Master Sergeant Lester W. Wiggins, United States Marine Corps retired and wife, Mayra, of Orlando, Will Wiggins III and his wife, Rosemarie, of Junction City, Kan., and Donavin Wiggins of New Smyrna Beach; three daughters, Linda Cooper of Whitehall, Mich., Lorraine Hill and her husband, David, of Amarillo, Texas, and Wendy Wiggins of Port Orange; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Feb. 28 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach chapel, with the Rev. Leonard O'Donnell officiating. Interment followed in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens.
