NASHVILLE: William Porter Hastings, 78, of Nashville (formerly of the Vale Community) died Tuesday, October 3 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 7 at Clarksburg Church of Christ with Bro. Billy Ringo and Bro. Mark Simons officiating. Interment followed in Sellers Hill Cemetery.
He was born May 1, 1928 to the late Will Hastings and Rita Pruitt Hastings. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Hastings and Otis Hastings, and two sisters, Inez Dowdy and Eva Payne.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Hastings; one daughter, Evelyn (Gene) Butler of Gallatin; one son, Danny (Elizabeth) Hastings of Clarksburg; one sister, Aleen Hamlin of Huntingdon; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon was in charge of arrangements.
