William Porter Hastings

NASHVILLE: William Porter Hastings, 78, of Nashville (formerly of the Vale Community) died Tuesday, October 3 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 7 at Clarksburg Church of Christ with Bro. Billy Ringo and Bro. Mark Simons officiating. Interment followed in Sellers Hill Cemetery.

He was born May 1, 1928 to the late Will Hastings and Rita Pruitt Hastings. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Hastings and Otis Hastings, and two sisters, Inez Dowdy and Eva Payne.

Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Hastings; one daughter, Evelyn (Gene) Butler of Gallatin; one son, Danny (Elizabeth) Hastings of Clarksburg; one sister, Aleen Hamlin of Huntingdon; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon was in charge of arrangements.

Stephen "Shane" Hastings

Shane Hastings went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, due to sudden heart death. He waits there with Jesus Christ for those of us who also believe in that NAME. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may be where I am." John 14:1-3.

Shane was born April 13, 1977 in Oklahoma City, Okla. and graduated from Moore High School in Moore, Okla. in 1995. While attending Moore High School, Shane met the love of his life, Amanda McCay. They were married July 12, 1997 in Moore. Shane and Amanda moved to Weatherford, Okla., where Shane graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in pharmacy. They moved to Montrose in 2000, where Shane was a pharmacist at Wal-Mart and Walgreens.

In 2001, they welcomed their first daughter into the world, Emma Grace "Daddy's Precious." Two years later they welcomed their second daughter, Hanna Joy "Daddy's Joy" into the family. Emma and Hanna were his pride, joy and legacy. Together, the Hastings family were inseparable and their love for God and each other was a beacon of light to all with whom they came in contact.

Shane is survived by his amazing wife, Amanda Hastings; two daughters, Emma Grace and Hanna Joy; Shane's parents, Elwyn and Cyndy Hastings of Moore, Oklahoma; Amanda's parents, Keith and Cheryl McCay of Montrose, Colo.; brother, Travis Hastings, and sister-in-law, Claire, of Derby, Kan.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Tami McCay; and nieces and nephew, Corinne, Lauren and Nathaniel McCay, all of Olathe, Colo., along with numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service in celebration of Shane's life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Montrose Christian Church. The service will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shane's memory to "Shane Hastings Children's Education Fund", c/o Montrose Bank, either bank location, or 16550 S. Bessie Ruth Hastings Joiner

MONROEVILLE - Bessie Ruth Hastings Joiner, a homemaker and retired clerk for Plaza Pharmacy and Williams Drug Store, died Tuesday in a Mobile hospital. She was 84.

Mrs. Joiner, a native of Paris, Tenn., resided in Monroeville for the past 32 years.

Survivors include one son, James C. Joiner of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Marilyn J. Sawyer of Monroeville; one brother, Edward Hastings of Paris; one sister, Lena Dortch of Paris; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville with interment in Monroe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Fredrick Samuel Victor, Jr.

Fredrick S. Victor Jr., 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Muskogee, Okla., to Fredrick S. Victor Sr. and Dorothy Mae Showalter Victor.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was president of the 1939 Class at Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University. He was vice president of National Cooperative Refinery Association in McPherson, Kan. He was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church for 55 years, having served as a deacon, elder and Chairman of Board at Edina, Minn., and Dallas, Texas. He was a past member of the Bella Vista Community Church. He was a member of the Bella Vista Presbyterian Church. He was co-leader of the Presbyterian Golf Association and Shepherd Group. He enjoyed golf, bridge, travel and sports.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Victor, and Paul Victor; a sister, DeeLaura Allen; and his first wife, Nancy Louise Victor.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Mickie Victor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Grant Victor and Julie Victor of Dallas, Texas, and David Victor and Brenda Victor of Albany, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy Moore Nichols and Charles Nichols of Kansas City, Mo.; three stepchildren, John Duncan of Bologna, Italy, Diane Thompson and her husband Doug Thompson of Wichita, Kan., and Dick Duncan and his wife Teresa Duncan of Austin, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Baker and Jim Baker of Broken Bow, Okla.; three grandchildren, Rae Fourt, David More, and Ryan Victor; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, with the Rev. James E. Still and the Rev. Tracy L. Evans.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter, 7702 S. W. Regional Airport Blvd., Bentonville, AR 72712, or to Habitat for Humanity of Benton County, 908 S.
