Thomas Russell Stagner

Mr. Thomas Russell Stagner, 85, of Pulaski died April 2, 2001, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Mr. Stagner was born in Big Sandy, Tenn., and was the son of the late Robert Stagner and Cora Clementine Hastings. He was a retired pharmaceutical salesman.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 6 at Bennett-May Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Baldwin and Randy Dunnavant officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Stagner of Pulaski; two sons, Thomas R. Stagner of Pulaski and Joseph David Stagner of Ardmore, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Annie Claire Weddington

Mrs. Annie Claire Weddington, 74, died Friday, July 11, in Taylor Hospital, Lewisburg.

Services for Mrs. Weddington, wife of Andy Weddington, were held Sunday afternoon, July 13 at two o’clock in the chapel of Bennett-May Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rudolph Janes officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

A native of Giles County, Mrs. Weddington was born July 11, 1895, the daughter of the late Thomas R. Hastings and Ida Hicks Hastings.

Survivors in addition to her husband include, three sisters, Mrs. Velma Kellum, Pulaski, Mrs. Glenn Hale and Mrs. Bertie Garrett, both of Detroit, Mich.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bagwell, Manassa, Colo.; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Giles Creed Thomas

Creed Thomas, 90, of Pasco, Washington, died Oct. 27, 2010. He was born on Nov. 6, 1919 east of Niangua to Henry and Annie Garner Thomas.

Creed attended Copening school and Mackey schools. He married Lorene Cooper in 1943 and moved to Washington state in 1944. Creed and Lorene settled in Pasco where they worked and raised their family.

He is survived by his wife Lorene; children, Larry Thomas, Linda Brake, and Sarah O’Donnell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ava Brown, Pauline Easter, and Ruth Parscale, brothers Monroe, Herman, and Luke Thomas. Burial was in the Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
