Reginald Lee Hastings, Jr.

NEW ORLEANS - Reginald Lee Hastings passed away Saturday evening, September 5, 2009, at Baptist Hospital.

Reg was born in Atkins, Arkansas and attended Southern State (University of Southern Arkansas) where he met his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Davis Hastings. They continued on to University of Oklahoma where he received a BS in Geology. In 1955, Reg started his career with Carter Oil and continued his career with Humble Oil and Refining Company and Exxon. He retired in 1984 from Exxon but came out of retirement to work for Tidewater and later opened a New Orleans office for Alfred Lampson.

Along with his wife, Mary Ann, Reg is also survived by three children, Sharon Billeaud (Paul), Ann LeBlanc, and Scott Hastings (Diny). He had seven grandchildren, Brian (Andrea) and Eric Billeaud, Joey LeBlanc, and Katie, Scott, Jr., and Reggie Hastings. He had two great-grandchildren, Paul James and Mary Beth Billeaud.

Reg was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald, Sr. and Virgie Hastings; two brothers; a sister and son-in-law, Ashton "Manny" LeBlanc.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Oak Park Baptist Church, 1110 Kabel Drive, New Orleans, LA, for Reginald Lee Hastings.
